Are you stuck with no inspiration for how to get a fresh looking engagement shoot? We’ve pulled together some thoughts for you.
No. 1 – Get personal.
Find what makes your couple unique and use it to your advantage. What similarities do they have? What do they love about each other? What makes them the quirky couple who everyone looks at twice? What activities do they do together and when are they the most comfortable around each other? Those are the moments you want to capture.
No. 2 – Warm Embraces.
This is when you will usually receive the strongest emotional response which will translate across in your images.
No. 3 – Smooches.
Don’t be afraid to ask them to kiss each other over and over and over again. It’s good practice for the wedding day.
No. 4 – In Motion.
Taking images of the couple in motion sometimes gives a great pure reaction from the two as their focus is generally not on the image, but rather on each other and the direction in which they are moving.
No. 5 – Side by Side.
These poses create an easy composition for the viewer to follow, with clear leading lines separating the subject from the background.
